Halloween Party

Well there you go ... I have finally been to a Halloween Party ... managed to do without Halloween for 61 years, but this year in Hải Phòng...

Khánh decided he wanted to go as Batman, so in the afternoon ha and Maarten came over and we wrapped his head in gladwrap and mixed up a batch of papier mache...

Poor Khánh had to sit like that for ages with fans blowing while we waited for it to dry enough to take off his head!  Then I had to go to work and we had little hope that it would dry in time for tonight's party...  but what do you know?  It dried out!  ... 3 fans going full tilt for 4 hours did the job.

So when I got home from work it was time to begin painting ... mask, faces and costumes...

The party was at Rie and Emily's house (where Will and Emma used to live).  There were lots of people... a good mix of English language teachers  with some locals and the odd foreigner thrown in the mix. Everyone had a good time ...

It was half past one when Xuân walked me home... a gorgeous balmy night. The weather here is lovely (apart from the occasional cyclone)  at this time of the year - no longer stinking hot!  A few hours later Khánh and Maarten knocked on the door (Khánh's bike was at my place) and just one hour after that, at 5.30am my alarm went off to wake me up for my morning walk!!!

Lately I have been joined by several of the NP crew - Thảo, Hà, Tiên, Tuyền and Trung, and we step it out together. I couldn't miss it... but I must admit, after my shower, I crashed and slept for another couple of hours.
